The Furuno FMD-3200 is an IMO-compliant ECDIS featuring a 19-inch high-resolution display and a powerful, separate processor unit (EC-3000). Unlike the all-in-one FMD-3100, the 3200’s modular design allows for a customized bridge layout, making it the preferred choice for deep-sea commercial vessels. The system is built around a new, sophisticated chart-drawing engine that eliminates redraw latency, providing instantaneous zooming and panning—even when displaying complex ENC data, AIS targets, and radar overlays simultaneously. The FMD-3200 introduces a task-based user interface with a "Status Bar" and "InstantAccess Bar," which streamlines navigational workflows.
